The EPIC GRAN CANARIA is an International Road Cycling event with two Gran Fondo regulated in Article 9 of the Regulation of “Cycle Tourism-Cycling for All” of the RFEC within the framework of a cycling specialty that conceives this sport as a physical exercise for purposes leisure and tourism or cultural, excluding competition. The EPIC GRAN CANARIA is a Gran Donde with Time Trials, with a degree of appreciable difficulty, both for mileage, and for unevenness, where the participation and individual effort of the athlete are a motivation to personal growth. It will be carried out on roads open to road traffic and its participants will be considered normal users of public roads, subject to the general provisions of the Road Safety Law. The test will be subject to the provisions of articles 15 and following of Annex II of Royal Decree 1428/2003, of November 21, which approves the General Traffic Regulations for the application and development of the articulated text of the Law on traffic, circulation of motor vehicles and road safety, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 339/1990, of March 2. The EPIC GRAN CANARIA is organized by the Procycle Sports Club G76262211, with the collaboration of the Island Council of Sports of Gran Canaria, the municipalities of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Mogán and Santa Lucia.

The EPIC GRAN CANARIA is presented with two Ciclodeportivas, the first stage with a 115Kms route will take place on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 08:30 am in the Riu Palace Maspalomas located at the end of Avenida Tirajana. And the second stage with 75Kms will also leave at the Hotel Riu Palace Maspalomas on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at 08:30 am.

To collect the bib number, it is MANDATORY to present the DNI and the license of the RFEC or FCC in the event that the insurance proposed by the organization has not been subscribed.

The collection of bibs will take place at the viewpoint of the dunes at the RIU Palace Maspalomas hotel on February 12, 2021 from 12:00 am to 21:00 pm. Dorsals will not be given to cyclists who participate outside the indicated schedule, even if they only participate in the sports cycle. Every participant must carry, in a mandatory and visible way: the chip and the number. Any cyclist who does not wear the bib in a visible way will be excluded from the route by members of the organization or by law enforcement. The dorsal and the chip are personal and non-transferable items. The registered person may only participate with the number assigned to him and agrees not to allow other persons to use it. Claims for loss of chip or placement in inappropriate place will not be accepted. The back of another participant may be removed with original or photocopy of the necessary documents (ID or license). Photographs on mobile phones will not be valid. For those under 18 years of age it is mandatory to present the paternal authorization (download attached sheet) duly signed, in the event of not presenting the license, € 10 of the day license will be charged as compulsory insurance to participate in the march.


The time trial will count from the passage through the first time trial point at the beginning of each port until the passage of the second time trial point at the end of the port, with each riere having individualized time trial.

ARTICLE 2.2 ELIMINATION SYSTEM STAGE 1: Every participant when being passed by the “End of Test” broom vehicle is considered outside of it, and must deliver a bib number, chip and license plate; using the broom bus or ending the tour at your own risk. In the first stage there are two elimination control points, with the following maximum passing times: MIRADOR AYAGAURES (Aqualand-Mirador): 50min I ALTO AYACATA (Filipinas Village-Ayacata): 2:30Hrs. The participant who exceeds these times must leave the test in a mandatory way, using the broom bus or, excluded from the test, will be under his responsibility to be a normal user of public roads if he decided to continue the tour by bicycle.

ARTICLE 2.3 ELIMINATION SYSTEM STAGE 2: Every participant when being passed by the “End of Test” broom vehicle is considered outside of it, and must deliver a bib number, chip and license plate; using the broom bus or ending the tour at your own risk. There is a qualifying control points, with the following passage time: TIRAJANA PEOPLE (Maspalomas-Tunte): 1: 50Hrs. The participant who exceeds these times must leave the test in a mandatory way, using the broom bus or, excluded from the test, will be under his responsibility to be a normal user of public roads if he decided to continue the tour by bicycle.


There will be liquid and solid supplies at the end of each timed section, placing themselves in the first stage at the points of the Ayagaures viewpoint and in the Ayacata square. And in the second stage in Tirajana Village.

To participate it is mandatory to be in possession of the corresponding cycling license approved by the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation (RFEC), or sign the day license with the insurance provided by the organization. They are the only valid insurance accepted by the authorities. Participation in the test is under the responsibility and own risk of the participants. The participant at the time of registration declares to be physically fit for the test.


ONLY A VALID REGISTRATION IS CONSIDERED when the registration fees have been paid. Payment can only be made online by credit card through the Trackingsport gateway.

5.1 The inscriptions are considered DEFINITIVE so that in the case of not being able to participate, the Welcomen Pack Pack will be delivered ONLY ON THE DAYS OF THE TEST, but the registration will not be returned. The inscriptions are strictly personal and non-transferable and cannot be used by anyone other than the registered one. It is not possible to replace one participant with another.

5.2 The registration of the tour includes numbered plate, control chip, welcome pack bag, physiotherapy service, supplies, mechanical service, medical service, and Finisher diploma. Time control will be done electronically by using chip. The time control system will give UNCLASSIFIED to participants who do not have a control step at the departure points at the scheduled time and arrival.

ARTICLE 6. Any participant who is seen towed by any vehicle will be sanctioned by the organization. Prohibition of accompanying vehicles in accordance with Traffic Regulations. Law enforcement will stop accompanying vehicles, which must be held responsible for the sanctions that the breach of the traffic regulations may cause them.

ARTICLE 7. The organization will have, during the development of the test and permanently, a cadre of doctors, ambulances and mobile UVI's, several fixed relief points, a medical post at the arrival, broom bus and a team of physiotherapists.

ARTICLE 8. The organization will have mechanical assistance throughout the test but is not obliged to serve all participants. In the event of a breakdown, labor will be free, but spare parts will be borne by the participants. Only repairs that can be resolved en route will be taken into account, except for punctures. Fixed mechanical assistance points, also mobile en route. All participants must carry their spare parts and be self-sufficient. The mechanical assistance of the organization is a courtesy service.

ARTICLE 9. THE USE OF THE APPROVED CYCLING HELMET IS OBLIGATORY. Reserve enough water and food for 50km and travel between the refreshment points.

ARTICLE 10. A transit provision of the Civil Guard, Municipal Police and Civil Protection shall ensure the safety of the march.

ARTICLE 11. All participants must scrupulously observe the provisions of the Road Safety Law and its Regulations. The time trial on roads open to traffic. Who does not comply with the law will be expelled from the march and subsequent editions. The inscription in the test supposes that the participant assumes the risks inherent to the participation in a test open to traffic, and excludes the organization from the test of responsibilities for any incident or accident derived from the participation in the test.

ARTICLE 12. The acceptance of these regulations is accepted at the time of registration in the EPIC GRAN CANARIA. The organization is not responsible for any accident of which the participant could be a cause or victim, which must be covered by the corresponding federation license or accident insurance contracted to the organization in case of not being federated. Nor is it jointly responsible for the expenses or debts that the participants may incur during the test, or for the mishaps or breakdowns that the bicycles or other equipment of the participants could suffer. The participant exempts the organization from any responsibility for loss or deterioration of personal items for any circumstance.

ARTICLE 12.1 In the event that the EPIC GRAN CANARIA cannot be held, for reasons outside the organization, whether due to a state of emergency, weather alert or any other, if the event is suspended or postponed due to force majeure, the organization will not assume any liability and will not proceed to the refund of the amount paid on registration or compensation.

Participants are strongly recommended to have a medical examination before participating in the test.

ARTICLE 13. The organization reserves the right to make appropriate modifications, when for any reason it deems necessary. Also the Right of Admission is reserved.

ARTICLE 14. The user must have read, know and accept conditions of participation in the Epic Gran Canaria:

The user declares to know that the Epic Gran Canaria is a Gran Fondo with 2 stages.

The user declares to be in an adequate state of health to perform the physical effort involved in participating in a major or background test, depending on the route he takes. The user is solely responsible for the care and custody of the material with which he carries out the test, including the loss or deterioration of personal items, as well as theft, theft, loss or other circumstances.

The user undertakes to comply with traffic regulations, and especially those of the Road Safety Law and its Regulations, ensuring its safety and that of other participants and users of public roads.

The user exempts the Procycle Sports Club, the president and board of directors of the Club, the Spanish Cycling Federation, the Canarian Federation, and / or any natural or legal person related to the organization of the test, from the responsibilities derived from any accident caused both due to traffic events and sports accidents, including any claim for personal or third party damages.

The user undertakes to exercise extreme caution against possible unforeseen events or vehicles that may be traveling along the route.

The user knows that there are dangerous sections in which I must exercise caution and not invade the lane in the opposite direction, as well as prolonged descents with curves in which the speed will moderate in order to avoid own and / or others' damages. It also knows that there are sections in which the state of the roads may not meet the appropriate safety conditions, and different tunnels that may NOT be illuminated and expressly excludes the Procycle Sports Club from liability for any damage suffered due to the poor state of the roads or because of defect in the various infrastructures.

The user knows that there is the possibility of suffering a sports accident inherent in the practice of cycling, personally assuming responsibility for accidents that could cause himself or cause any participant of the test, exempting and keeping the Procycle Sports Club harmless. Any liability arising from these accidents.

ARTICLE 15. The fact of registering in this test implies the acceptance of these regulations and the renunciation of all the rights against the organization, renouncing any legal action that could derive from its participation in the test.

ARTICLE 16. Strictly, the penalty of those participants who: Do ​​not respect the traffic code will be carried out. Do not respect the safety instructions indicated by law enforcement officials and the organization, such as overtaking the police car of the march head. Do not pass through the exit control and others located along the route. Dirt or degrade the itinerary, throwing waste. Have your own support vehicle, hindering the progress of the rest. ARTICLE 17. The organization will designate a group of participants whose function will be to ensure the safety of the test. ARTICLE 19. Image rights. The acceptance of these regulations necessarily implies that the participant authorizes the organizers of the EPIC GRAN CANARIA to the total or partial recording of their participation in the same, gives their agreement so that they can use their image for the promotion and dissemination of the image of EPIC GRAN CANARIA in all its forms (radio, press, video, photo, DVD, internet, posters, media, etc.) and assigns all the rights related to its commercial and advertising exploitation that it deems appropriate to execute, without right by its party to receive any financial compensation. 19.1 The participant authorizes the processing and transfer of their data to the Organizing and collaborating entities of this event in order to process the registration in the event and manage everything related to participation in the march.
