What is the Epic Gran Canaria?
The EPIC GRAN CANARIA is a road cycling event with a Criterium and two Gran Fondo Stages regulated in article 9 of the RFEC "Cycling-Cycling for All" Regulation.

Are roads open to traffic?
The two Gran Fondo stages will pass with open traffic, only in the timed sections the roads are closed to traffic, however it is mandatory for the participants to stay in their lane and respect the traffic signs as well as the indications of the security and protection bodies civil during the whole journey.
Are there time limits to complete the event?
Any participant to be overtaken by the vehicle "End of Trial" is considered out of it, and must deliver dorsal, chip and bicycle plate; making use of the bus or ending the Gran Fondo under your responsibility. In the first Gran Fondo stage there are two eliminatory control points, with the following maximum times of passage: SANTA LUCIA (Age of Cardón - Santa Lucia Town): 01: 20Hrs I THE WALL (Tirajana): 10Min. In the second Gran Fondo stage there are two other eliminatory control points, with the following maximum times of passage: MIRADOR AYAGAURES (Ayagaures Pueblo-Mirador): 30min I HIGH AYACATA (Philippines-Ayacata): 2: 30Hrs. The participant who exceeds these times must leave the test in a mandatory way, using the bus broom or, excluded from the test, will be under their responsibility to be a normal user of public roads if they decided to continue the tour by bicycle.
Can I receive particular assistance during the event from my team, friends or family?
Assistance is only allowed by the organization in the provisioning points and support cars of the organization. Any participant who is overtaken by the green flag, can not keep up and does not get on the "broom vehicle", will be out of the race and will not receive assistance from the organization.
Who can participate in the Epic Gran Canaria?
Any cyclist looking for a challenge who want to enjoy road cycling in a unique environment as the island of Gran Canaria offer.
What is the minimum age to participate in the Epic Gran Canaria? And the maximum?
Every cyclist must be older than 18 years old to be able to take the start at Epic Gran Canaria. Cyclists between 15 and 18 years old can also participate with the authorization of their legal guardian. There is no maximum age to complete the Epic Gran Canaria.
Should I be federated? Am I covered in case of an accident?
It is not necessary to be federated. Those participants who are not in possession of the RFEC-UCI license, must contract the race day policy during the registration process.
The prevention and evacuation protocol of the Epic Gran Canaria includes ambulance service and each participant will be covered by an insurance (license or day policy).
Do I need a medical certificate to participate?
The current sports legislation allows participation without medical examination in cycling events. However, all participants are recommended to have performed a medical check-up as well as a healthy test prior to participating in the Epic Gran Canaria since it is a resistance test that requires great physical effort for a long time. Each participant is responsible for taking part in the Epic Gran Canaria in full physical condition and health, and accepts this by confirming the conditions of participation during the registration process.

Due to schedule problems it is impossible to go to the Epic Gran Canaria. Can I transfer the registration from one edition to another?
We are sorry. We are not responsible for the changes that each participant may suffer. In no case will the amount of the registration be refunded or transferred to the next edition. The cession of the number to another person is also strictly prohibited. If, due to other circumstances, you can not participate, you may pick up the bag from the broker only on the day of delivery of numbers.

When can I pick up the bib number?
On Friday, April 5 from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, On Baltic Sea Street (Meloneras).
Who can pick up the bib number?
The bib number of another participant may be removed with original or photocopy of the necessary documents (ID or license). Photographs on mobile phones will not be valid. For those under 18 years of age, it is mandatory to present the paternal authorization (download attached sheet) duly signed, in the event of not presenting the license, 10 € of the day license will be charged as compulsory insurance to participate in the march.

Each day there will be a general classification and a stage divided by age groups and symbolic prizes are awarded to the first men and women who have completed each stage.
